The Mother Goddess
The "Mother Goddess" embroidery was found on the bosom of a shirt in Bitola, Macedonian region. In the center of the embroidery we also find the main figure of the Mother Goddess giving birth. It exists as a symbol in many religions and ancient civilizations. Her main function is not only to give life, but her womb also shelters her children at the end of their earthly journey. It is centrally located, which determines its place between the real world and the afterlife.
The mother goddess is a symbol of fertility and is the protector of the home and women. In the past she was also the patroness of cities, laws and secret knowledge. This aspect of her is expressed through the "crown" of horns on the head. They can be interpreted in two ways - as a symbol of the fertilizing male principle, or just the opposite - as a visual metaphor for female fertility.
The symbol of the Mother Goddess can be found in many different parts of the world, and its exact origin is extremely difficult to determine. The first such images and sculptures date back to 6-7 millennia BC.Very often this embroidery is found in combination with Kanatitsa, because of the similar meanings and symbolism.
